Royal Hospital, Chelsea. St Michael's Roman Catholic Chapel

The new Positive 3-manual organ is very special indeed. The primary voicing is French 17th Century, but also available at the press of a piston, are two further voices; French romantic and traditional English (see details below). The console features non-motorised wooden drawstops, each turned in contrasting woods to differentiate the divisions (beech, oak and black ash being used). Hand registration of the instrument is carried out in the normal manner, but as the instrument also features divisional and general pistons, should the player use these, the stops have illuminated heads (the lights can be switched on or off).
There are 49 speaking stops and a tremulant which operates over all divisions.
This instrument replaces a 2 manual Eminent Positive organ which is currently back at the factory being refitted with the latest technology before starting a revitalised life in the South-East of France
